Southeastern Community College Alumni Association | Distinguished Alumnus Award 2017
Mary Ann Philp graduated from Southeastern Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 1980. She was employed by SCC as a clinical instructor in Pediatrics in the fall of 1981 and continued in this position while completing her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.
She became a member of the SCC full-time faculty in 1989 and then Nursing Coordinator for the Keokuk Campus in 2001. Mary Ann retired from SCC in August of 2011. She continued to serve as a clinical adjunct following retirement. Mary Ann most enjoyed the area of Pediatrics nursing.
She was involved with teaching preschool Sunday School classes in her church, was active in the Central Lee Schools PTO and Music Boosters, and now volunteers at Central Lee Elementary.
Mary Ann thanks her Keokuk SCC nursing faculty colleagues for their constant support and their willingness to work as a team in the best interests of the students.
