Rick Loghry received an Associates of Science degree from SCC in 1966. He was raised and went to school in the Middletown-Burlington, IA area. Rick was an outstanding student and athlete both at the high school and college levels. He was a starter on the SCC Blackhawks team that finished 2nd in the nation. Upon receiving his BA from Rollins College, FL and an MBA from the Crummer College of Business at Rollins College, he joined Mason & Hanger (M&H – now American Ordnance) in 1970 at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant (IAAP) in Middletown. He transferred to Amarillo, TX when the Iowa nuclear mission was consolidated at the DOE Pantex plant there.
After a 3-year association with Gardner Denver in Quincy, IL, Mr. Loghry rejoined M&H at corporate headquarters in Lexington, KY as Manager of the Systems Division. In 1987, he returned to the IAAP to manage production and system contractor interface on specific projects. In 1990, he became M&H Vice President and Plant Manager of the 20,000 acre plant that included 1,500 structures and 1,300 employees. During his tenure, his leadership style which emphasized Total Quality systems earned the Plant numerous national nominations and awards for quality and safety. Loghry himself received the Department of the Army Commander’s Award for Public Service and Outstanding Accomplishments.
In 1992, Loghry was named President & COO of M&H and General Manager of the DOE Pantex Plant. He moved to the Corporate Operations Office in Amarillo, TX in 2004 when the M&H Board of Directors elected him President in charge of all company operations, national and international.
Currently, Mr. Loghry is President of actions speak, a consulting firm that provides the tools and techniques to help an organization succeed when dealing with change.
